Cars are great aren’t they??
Well great apart from the cost of fuel and tax, the atmosphere eroding exhaust fumes and pollution, maintenance hassle and again cost, numerous nasty congestion charges you now have to pay, not to mention preposterous parking costs – we won’t continue because frankly it’s mind crushingly depressing.
So moving swiftly on to the good news…..UKEco Scooters!!! In today’s society we are all aware how we get less for our poor little pound and this fragile sphere we call earth is constantly under attack from lung clogging pollution. Well we here at UKEco Scooters have a key (well, a lot of keys!) to a little scooter (obviously enough scooters to go with all the keys we have!!) that will not only save you money but will help save the planet too.
UKEco Scooters are happy to offer you the opportunity to make yourself a little richer while you make the world a healthier and happier place. 100% electric scooters that at only 8 pence to charge your scooter for 8 hours, you can then travel up to 40 miles at 30mph totally emission free. That’s right, we were surprised too; it’s pretty good don’t you think??!?
For all of you green yet fashion conscious people out there our scooters are available in a wide range of colours including green (obviously!), red, blue, purple, orange, yellow, black and silver.
Plug, In Charge & Go
No petrol or diesel - saving money has never been easier. Just plug into your nearest mains socket to charge (minimum 3 hour charge sufficient for most short journeys!). At only 8p for a full eight hour charge your travelling cost will be as low as 1/4p per mile.
Registering your Scooter
When you receive your scooter you must contact the DVLA within 14 days (may be extended to one calendar month at peak periods, e.g. prior to 1 March and 1 September) and register it as a new vehicle.
You do this by filling in a V55/4 application for available from you local DVLA office (details available @ www.dvla.gov.uk)
You will need to wait for this registration to be completed (normally 48-72 hours) before you can use or keep the scooter on a public road in Great Britain (GB). This is the current situation under UK Law.
Your Scooter is tax exempt as it is a fully electric vehicle but must still have a tax disc (provided by the DVLA free of charge).
A more detailed description of the registration process can be found on the DVLA website
Rider Eligibility
If you have a full driving licence that was gained prior to Feb 2001 then legally you will not require any further tests or training. UK Eco Scooters however advise that you complete a Compulsory Bike Training (CBT) course for the practical experience of riding a scooter.
If you have a full driving licence that was gained after Feb 2001 then legally you will have to complete a CBT course. You can then ride your scooter without needing L plates. If you have a provisional motorcycle/moped licence then legally a CBT course must be taken and the scooter must only be ridden with L plates until you have taken and passed your full test.
CBT courses can be taken and completed in one day and usually costs approximately 70.00GBP.
Details of CBT course providers can be obtained from www.dvla.gov.uk.
Easy, fun and relaxing to ride- skip past traffic jams (while you smile smugly at all the poor motorists sat in queues of course!) with a top speed of 30mph from the 1400w motor the top speed is the equivalent of a 50cc petrol scooter without a noise like a bumblebee on steroids
