Charging

Find out how and where to charge the UK Eco Scooter.

Charging
Your scooter arrives with a charger. This will allow you to charge the scooter batteries. Your scooter must be charged before you make your first journey. UKEco Scooters recommend that you give your bike a full (8 hours) continuous charge before riding for the first time on the roads.

Your scooter has an LED gauge on the instrument display panel. This indicates the battery
charge (High – Low)

Under the seat you will find the isolator switch. This switch is turned off while the scooter is shipped. When charging your scooter this must be turned to ON. Your scooter will not charge if the isolator switch is in the off position. Now you can plug your charger into the nearest mains plug socket, this will illuminate the RED power led light on the charger.

To charge your scooter insert the charging connector provided into the socket at the front of the seat, below where you actually sit. When you plug this in you will then see a RED charging led light illuminate as the bike is now on charge

When the battery is full or after approximately eight hours another led light will illuminate in GREEN. You can now remove the charger as the bike is fully charged. Please check this by turning the keys in the ignition and viewing the meter before setting off on your journey.

The distance you can travel on your scooter on one charge depends on a number of variable factors. These factors include how steep the inclines you ride are, the style of riding, speed, temperature and tyre pressure. Tests have shown that in normal driving conditions, with a driver of average weight the scooters will run for approximately 40 miles on a full charge.

When the LED gauge on the instrument display panel shows amber the scooter has approximately a 15-20 mile range remaining.

Your UKEco Scooter has four re-chargeable batteries. The batteries have an approximate life

expectancy 16 months. This will vary depending on the amount of use your scooter receives and the type of journeys you make. Replacement batteries can be found in the ‘spare parts’ section on our website

The isolator switch under the seat may be used to protect battery life when leaving your scooter for prolonged periods of time. You may also use it to increase the security of your scooter when leaving it unattended.

UKEco Scooters recommend that you leave your scooter on charge at all times when not in use. This will prolong the batteries life. Failure to do so may invalidate your warranty.
