Southport MP John Pugh visits UKeco Scooters
Southport company UKeco Scooters today welcomed local MP Dr. John Pugh to their offices. Ukeco Scooters management and directors had plenty to talk about with Dr. Pugh as they try to find ways of making sefton a greener and safer place to live.
www.ukecoscooters.co.uk are the largest importers into the UK of electric powered mopeds, since the start of this enterprise just over six months ago they have seen customers flocking to their website and have sold well over 250 units throughout the UK.
Paul Coulson, manager of Ukeco Scooters, ‘ The future is now, this type of transport is no longer 5 years away, they are here and they are the best way to get around a town or city. I have customers in London who have told me that since they purchased their scooter they have cut their travelling time into work by an hour’. And for a cost of 8p per charge which will give you a little over 40 miles travelling at 30mph it seems that these little scooters are THE way to get about. They are also road tax free (WINNER)and also congestion charge free (WINNER). We have spoke to people who are within travelling distance to Southport and have electric transport and they have said that a charging point within Southport would be a great advantage to them as they would be able to come here shopping in our classic resort.
Another thing that has been proposed with the help of Dr. Pugh is for school leavers and students who are thinking of getting a scooter/moped when they are 16-17 is that UKecoscooters will pay for their C.B.T test. So if any parents are thinking of buying their children a moped as a leaving present then please get in touch with us. This also led to a discussion on Southport’s every growing problem of lack parking spaces and congestion. Could These environmentally friendly scooters be a solution? They would certainly help with the parking around the Hospital area if staff used them. They would also help if some of the employees on White moss business park used them.
