Before riding your scooter on public roads you need to ensure you have followed all the steps below.

Registering your Scooter

  1. When you receive your scooter you must contact the DVLA within 14 days (may be extended to one calendar month at peak periods, e.g. prior to 1 March and 1 September) and register it as a new vehicle.
  2. You do this by filling in a V55/4 application for available from you local DVLA office (details available @ www.dvla.gov.uk)
  3. The cost of registering your scooter is 55.00 GBP
  4. You will need to wait for this registration to be completed (normally 48-72 hours) before you can use or keep the scooter on a public road in Great Britain (GB).  This is the current situation under UK Law.
  5. It is your legal responsibility to adhere to the law and UK Eco Scooters are in no way legally responsible for registration of your vehicle.
  6. Your Scooter is tax exempt as it is a fully electric vehicle but must still have a tax disc (provided by the DVLA free of charge).
